Reunions & Photos

It is my pleasure and honor to attend the annual reunions of the 315th Infantry.  Each year I look forward to seeing these brave men, their wives, and children.  My father served in Cannon Company.

Here are index pages of a few of the photos that I snapped at the reunions.  The ones here are low resolution so that they will download quickly, but the full resolution images, which are much higher quality, are available for the asking.   These higher resolution images can be used to print photographs, make albums on a CD, etc.  See the "If you would like a copy of one or more photos..." section below  for more information.

If you would like a copy of one or more photos...

Drop me an e-mail and let me know the file name, format, resolution, and if you want the photo fixed (brighten, darken, less green, get rid of red-eye, etc.)  Here are a few things to remember:

  • Full image file size is approximately 700K, with a resolution of 2048x1536, 300ppi.  Images can be provided in the following file formats:  JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF, PSD, PNG, PPF, PP5, DCS, EPS, PCX, SCT, RAS, TGA.  If you don't know which to use, you probably want JPG.
  • Lighting conditions dictated a slow shutter speed, so there may be some blurring in a few of the photos.  Some fuzziness is also introduced when the resolution was cut for viewing on the Web.  If you're interested in a shot, take a look at the high-resolution version, as it will often be clearer.
  • Adjustments can be made to brightness, contrast, sharpness, and color tones of the picture, so don't panic of your cheeks look a little rosy (even if you DID have a few drinks!).  We can fix it.
  • The red-eye is easy to fix, so don't fret. My camera won't do red-eye reduction AND slow flash at the same time, so I had to compromise. Sorry!

If you want a print, many photo finishers are now printing from digital images.  You might want to try one of these (listed in no particular order:   http://www.dotphoto.com/ http://www.photoaccess.com/ http://www.printroom.com/ http://www.shutterfly.com/index.jsp http://www.snapfish.com/ http://www.ofoto.com/ http://www.wolfcamera.com .  I'm sure there are others, and a number of shops also accept diskettes or CD's.  Remember to send them the high-resolution image, however.  The better the resolution, the better the printed picture.

My e-mail address, you ask?  Please send a note to gpartain@hotmail.com. Once I hear from you, I will send you a new e-mail address to use for correspondence.  This is to help keep my primary address from getting "spammed".
